Claude's users skew technical and professional: developers, product teams, writers, and founders who keep it open all day. That changes the shape of the questions it gets. Instead of casual 'best X' queries, Claude fields specific, constraint-loaded ones — 'error monitoring for a Next.js app on Cloudflare', 'a CRM that won't fight our API'. Its answers tend to be long, reasoned and specific, which cuts both ways: when Claude recommends you it often explains why, and when it recommends someone else the case against ever evaluating you is already made.

With web search enabled, Claude cites the pages it draws on — documentation, comparison posts, community threads — and links them in the answer. From what we see, well-maintained docs and credible third-party writeups matter here; hype pages less so. Claude also increasingly acts through agent workflows and tools like Claude Code, where it selects libraries, services and vendors as part of doing a task, with no human reading a list at all. Being the option Claude reaches for in those contexts is a new kind of distribution, and it is measurable only if you are tracking.

The stakes are concentrated for dev tools, infrastructure, APIs and B2B SaaS: a single engineer asking Claude for a stack recommendation can commit a team to a vendor for years, and the whole evaluation can finish without one visit to your website. Losing those moments doesn't register anywhere in your funnel — no impression, no click, no lost-deal note. Claude's answers also evolve as Anthropic ships new models, so last quarter's spot check has expired. Tracking your prompts on a weekly or daily cadence turns that blind spot into a trend line you can act on.
